Rusty but the lines were beautiful on this piece of farm equipment.

Photographed outside Seattle, Washington.

Classic Farmall M I'm willing to bet. Pretty old school. There's a lot of folks who take the time to restore these machines.

I need to Google now. I didn't know the manufacturer of the tractor but absolutely loved the lines, even with the rust.

Curious about who this Tanake Trang is?
:iconm1a2tanker:
Well normally it would be a bright red tractor, with the manufacturer's name on the hood along the sides, as well as what model it is. They made a lot of them with, and I recall our farm had....I believe an H and an M. We used the M, but I was deathly afraid of the H at the time. It didn't work too well.

I found scores of photos of the bright red, non-rusted variety and they are quite beautiful indeed.

Are they still used?

Generally no, they're pretty old and lack the torque and power, not to mention the safety of more modern machines, though some folks will use them because it's all they've got. They're better to be restored, simply because it's hard to replace broken parts if something goes down. Cause as you said...they're beautiful machines.

I had no idea. Thanks for the 411 though, I wouldn't have known that.
