Journal of Tanake Trang 006.

Entry:  After class one day, Yate showed me how to play a game with a remote.  It is supposed to test our reflexes with our sabers.  He challenged me to a match so we decided to play one game.  I won ten points to nine.  He made some crack that I was better than Sedaris but he was a good sport about losing.  It was fun but hard.  Yate didn’t give me that win either - I had to work for it.  I want to improve my speed and I am sure I’ll improve using this device.

Our other classes have been interesting so far.  Meda teaches us about the Force.  I have to confess that I like her classes better than Sunder’s.  His classes are so strict and formal while Meda just talks to us.  It seems so easy for her like when Mother taught us at home.  Meda showed us how to meditate so we can locate the Force which I’ve learned is all around us.  It coexists with life and runs through all living things.  It is something that we will be taught how to tap into?  There has been so much to keep separate.  I realized our home studies were strict but they are nothing compared to this new curriculum!  

I should be completely honest.  I don’t dislike all my classes with Master Adesdin.  Our Isa class has been the most fun.  Master Adesdin told us that the Jedi fighting form was invented by a Jedi named Qwes Isa.  Master Isa believed the Jedi relied too much on the light saber.  He studied various forms of fighting to come up with something that could be universally taught.  It is purely a defensive art while being offensive at the same time?  I keep getting paired with Yate or the Master himself.  It doesn’t take much for me to remember this stance or that move.  Maybe it’s the dance lessons that Mother made me take but it’s easy for me to follow along and I like it.

I had a chance tonight to speak to Meda about Kelvin.  She and I spoke privately and she told me basically the same story that he told me down on the planet.  I felt such sadness from her when she spoke of him.  I think she knew him well.  There has to be more to that whole story.  Maybe I can do some research on it after I finish my entry tonight?
